for their home computer The cost is $30.00 for a one-year
subscription.
What is
SmartMusic?
Smartmusic is a practice tool for students that gives
instant feedback to the students. Through recording
playback and visual assessment, the student is motivated to
perform at a higher level.
How
will it be used?
There are many ways the program can be utilized. Getting to
play a huge selection of band pieces with a professional
recording and on screen sheet music is AWESOME. There is
also a metronome and tuner included in the software.
How
can I get it?
Visit www.smartmusic.com
and follow the
prompt to purchase a one year student subscription. If
your computer does not have a built-in microphone, you
will also purchase a SmartMusic Microphone (I
don’t think the ‘required USB adapter for
Macs’ is really required). While purchasing the
software, you can choose to download the program, or
have a CD-ROM sent to you.

Can
students access SmartMusic on any computers at
school?
We do have a SmartMusic lab in the back practice room of
the band room. This lab is available for students to access
SmartMusic as well as other music software.
Do
other schools use SmartMusic?
This software is quickly becoming utilized in music
classrooms across the country. Many private lesson teachers
require their students to have the program.
